。According to Bloomberg, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Trade Rep. Robert Lighthizer will travel to Beijing on Tuesday as both sides hope to hammer out a final deal by the end of May. Talks starting next Tuesday "will cover trade issues including intellectual property, forced technology transfer, non-tariff barriers, agriculture, services, purchases and enforcement," the White House said in a statement. ---Zero Hedge

。Occidental Petroleum (OXY -2.68%)  kicked off what we imagine will become a hard-fought bidding war for Anadarko (APC +11.50%)by offering $76 a share for the company, a roughly $10 premium over Chevron's(CVX -1.63%) bid. In a letter to Anadarko's board, Occidental argued that its offer represented the better financial and strategic move for the Woodlands, Texas-based Anadarko. ---Zero Hedge

。Boein(BA +1.53%) earned an adjusted $3.16 per share for the first quarter, matching estimates, with revenue slightly below forecast. Boeing is pulling its 2019 guidance and suspending its share repurchase program due to uncertainty surrounding the grounding of its 737 MAX aircraft.---CNBC

。Caterpilla(CAT -3.13%) reported adjusted quarterly profit of $2.94 per share, beating estimates by 9 cents a share, with the heavy equipment maker’s revenue also topping forecasts.---CNBC

。Texas Instruments(TXN +1.37%)reported quarterly profit of $1.26 per share, 13 cents a share above estimates. The chipmaker’s revenue also came in above Wall Street forecasts, however the company warned that a slowdown in microchip demand may last for a few more quarters.
