。McDonald’s (MCD -0.08%)The Dow Jones Industrial Average component posted stronger-than-forecast results for the first quarter as same-store sales grew at a stronger pace than expected. McDonald’s earnings came in at $1.78 per share, 3 cents above a Refinitv estimate. Sales for the company totaled $4.956 billion, topping a $4.933 billion forecast. ---CNBC

。Alphabet(GOOGL -8.55%) — The Google-parent reported better-than-expected earnings but posting a slowdown in advertising revenue growth. The company said its ad revenue grew by 15.3% in the first quarter, down from 24.4% in the year-earlier period. ---CNBC

。General Electric (GE +2.98%) reported a more than three-fold rise in quarterly profit to $954M, helped by higher sales in aviation, oil and gas, and healthcare, offsetting a loss in renewable energy and much lower earnings in power. ---Seeking Alpha

。Western Digital(WDC -4.06%) — Shares of the data storage company fell about 5.5% on the back of weaker-than-expected fiscal third quarter results. Western Digital posted adjusted earnings per share of 17 cents on revenue of $3.67 billion. Analysts expected a profit of 46 cents per share on sales of $3.68 billion. ---CNBC

。It's no secret that younger Americans are more supportive of marijuana legalization. It appears that they're pretty upbeat on marijuana stocks, too.
