US Stocks To Continue Testing Bottoms

Rising bond yields, new round of sanctions against Russia, Shanghai locks down indefinitely and high valuation of tech stocks all contribute to today's market weakness. More weakness later in the day is likely after the Fed meeting minutes is released. The recent strong bounce of the stock market is definitely over and the market will likely continue to test bottoms.

Recent news:

1. US Treasury yields hit multi year highs: 5 year 2.748%, 10 year 2.629, 30 year 2.67%

2.  A new round of sanctions against Russia are expected to be announced by the US and the EU.

3. Oil price rises as new Russia sanctions out weigh demand worries.

4. Bank of America clients were selling US equities, both stocks and ETFs last week. Hedge funds were leading the way, followed by institutional clients. On the other hand, retail clients were buying stocks.

5. Last Federal Reserve meeting minutes is to be released at 11AM Pacific Time today. Analysts expect minutes will likely show even more hawkish attitude by the Fed members.

6. Shanghai residents feel strain as lock down extend indefinitely. People are confined to their homes and reliant on authorities for supplies.
