US stock market opened down on concern over deteriorating trade talk with China. The Dow dropped nearly 140 points earlier and is now recovered to down only 32. Strength from VZ, UNH, CSCO, COST and NKE support the Dow while weakness in CAT, MMM, IBM, AAPL drag. Both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite have bounced off their 50 day moving averages, they are  2869 and 7871 respectively. These levels are being tested and are still the levels to focus on for determining market direction. If these levels are solidly violated to the downside then market trend will be down， otherwise up.

。The Chinese government and state media sent a clear signal to markets Thursday and Friday that it is reluctant to resume trade talks with the U.S. A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce called the Trump administration’s moves to raise tariffs last week, and the threat of additional tariffs on the roughly $300 billion in annually imported Chinese so far untouched by new duties, “bullying behavior,” that has resulted in “severe negotiating setbacks.” Chinese state media also took aim at the Trump administration’s decision to put Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. on a list of entities that are working contrary to U.S. interests, which could result in U.S. companies needed to secure special permits to sell the company chips it relies on for end products. ---Market Watch

。The price of bitcoin sank almost 20% on Friday, an abrupt move after a strong recovery in the crypto-currency in recent weeks that took it to 10-month highs over 8300. It is trading near 7100 this morning.

。Nomura drops its Apple (AAPL) target from $180 to $175 and reduces its FY19 EPS estimate from $11.50/share to $11.39. The firm cites the "near-term negative" of the U.S.-China trade tensions. Nomura maintains a Neutral rating on Apple. ---Seeking Alpha

。JPMorgan analyst Stephen Tusa takes aim at 3M (MMM), lowering his price target on the stock to a Street-low of $143 (from $154) while maintaining his Underweight rating on shares.

。Nvidia NVDA, surged 7% after better than expected earnings report was released Thursday afternoon, but began shedding those gains after Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said data-center sales were expected to remain weak in the second quarter, and dispensed with providing a full-year guidance. ---Market Watch

。Applied Materials（AMAT） reported adjusted quarterly profit of 70 cents per share, beating consensus estimates by 4 cents a share. The semiconductor manufacturing equipment maker also reported better-than-expected revenue, and its guidance for the current quarter is largely above analysts’ forecasts.
