。The U.S. created 263,000 new jobs in April to help drive the unemployment rate down to a 49-year low of 3.6%, the latest cue pointing to a rebound in the economy after a slow start in the new year. The unemployment rate slipped to 3.6% from 3.8% in March, marking the lowest level since December 1969, the Labor Department said.The increase in new jobs easily topped the 217,000 forecast of economists surveyed by MarketWatch.---Market Watch

。The S&P 500 surged 40 points in just six days, hitting historic highs on Tuesday, but we’ve already given up most of those gains. 。Gilead (GILD ＋3.17%) reported earnings per share of $1.76, topping Refinitiv estimates of $1.71. Revenue was $5.28 billion, lower than the $5.30 billion forecast by analysts. Revenue for Gilead’s HIV drug, Biktarvy, beat expectations of $682 million, coming in at $793 million. ---CNBC

。Beyond Meat Inc. (BYND ＋3.13%) stock skyrocketed Thursday in the best-performing public offering by a major U.S. company in almost two decades. Shares  of the plant-based meat maker — which priced its IPO at $25 a share Wednesday evening — started trading at $46 a share shortly after noon on the Nasdaq, and surged to $65.75 by the end of the session, for a gain of 163%. Prices hit almost $73 a share at their intraday peak. Shares were up another 4% after hours. ---Market Watch

。Tesla Inc(TSLA ＋2.98%) on Friday was set to raise up to $2.7 billion in a record-setting capital raising for the electric carmaker, as investors scooped up a mix of new stock and convertible notes that will recharge the company’s cash-depleted balance sheet. The company said in a filing that it had raised its offer to 3.1 million shares, rising to 3.5 million including a tranche for underwriting banks, from an initially planned 2.7 million, priced at $243 per share. The filing also showed it would place convertible debt worth $1.6 billion, up from an initial planned $1.35 billion.---Reuters
