Plunging Oil Price Trigger Market Sell Off油价暴跌引发市场抛售

Due to chaos in WTI crude oil trading, major us stock indexes trading sharply down at the open. Dow  at one point was down over 600 points , it  bounced back to down only 350 points, and has now turning back down towards low. The weakest among the 3 major indexes is the Nasdaq Composite which has been outperforming in recent days.  This is negative as investors are selling strength. Amazon (AMZN) has turned negative from morning high even though its price target was raised to 2800 a share and 3 year target to 4000 by analyst. June WTI crude oil future is trading down over 24% to below 15.5 per barrel. 30 year Treasury Bond is up  over 1.04% indicating capital is flowing out of stocks into Treasuries. Technically, after rallying around 30% from their March 23 lows, the Dow, SP500 and Nasdaq composite failed to move above their resistances at 24100, 2880 and 8700 respectively. A long due market pull back starts. Near term support levels for major indexes are Dow 22500, 21700, SP500 2650, 2600, and Nasdaq Composite 8240, 7860.

。Recent signs suggest that the lockdowns have worked to flatten the curve: In the US, daily new cases are down 33% from the peak 10 days ago. 6% of the US counties have reported zero new cases in the past 7 days. And 7 states have announced plans to start reopening in the next two weeks, equivalent to roughly one-fifth of GDP. Speaking on "Squawk Box" Tuesday morning, former FDA Director Scott Gottlieb said "it might be possible" that 1 million people have been exposed to the virus in metro New York (meaning NYC alone; that's roughly 1/9 people), the latest suggestion that the US mortality rate is much lower than the official numbers reflect-one more reason for governors to move ahead with reopening. --- Zero Hedge

。Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says a deal on a new stimulus plan aimed at small businesses has been reached, and he expects passage today. Included in the bill is a national testing strategy. 。May WTI crude contracts (that expire today) crashed into negative territory for the first time ever on Monday, with markets awash in so much crude that storage space is becoming harder to find. Demand is down 30% worldwide amid travel restrictions and lockdowns to contain the spread of the coronavirus, while output cuts from the world's largest producers came too late to the show. Hopes that things would fare better today have now been dashed, with WTI contracts for June tumbling as much as 42% overnight to $ 11.89 / bbl. --- Wall Street Btreakfast

。Jefferies analyst Brent Thill raises Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) price target from $ 2,300 to the Street-high $ 2,800, citing the "attractive growth- adjusted valuation and upside to forward profit estimates." The analyst sees the coronavirus-related demand surge creating long-term operating income upside at high-margin businesses. Thill writes that a sum-of-the-parts analysis shows a 70% upside over three years, and the analyst sees a path to AMZN trading at $ 4,000. Jefferies maintains Amazon as its top large-cap pick. --- Seeking Alpha
