US Stocks May Have Hit The High Of This Bounce

After rising 937 points at its high this morning the Dow has since retraced more than half of the morning gain. Eager stock buyers rode yesterday's upside momentum pushed the market higher today on basically no news but base on hopes of decreasing infection cases and deaths. Technically, the S&P 500 has came back to near 62% fibonacci level of the second leg down and 50% level of the overall decline from Feb 19 high to March 23 low. This has been a impressive rally, however, it is a rally with no basis. The virus is still raging on all over the world, cities are still in lock down, business activities stopped, unemployment surged and corporate earnings are going to be bad are things still need to be resolved. The March 23 low of the S&P 500 still likely to be retested as people come to their senses that difficulties are still ahead. For S&P 500, the even number 2800 level would be a strong resistance that would be hard to surpass and it is likely the market may already hit the high of this rally this morning at 2757 and started to come down.

。With a sharp two-day rebound, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is now up 28% from its 52-week low of 18,213.65 hit on March 23. The 30-stock average jumped 2,400 points in just two trading sessions. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rallied about 10% this week so far, bouncing 24.7% from its 52-week low of 2,191.86 reached on March 23. For the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite, the benchmark jumped 9.6% week to date, now 21.7% up from its 52-week low of 6,631.42 also hit on March 23.

。A new burst of animosity between Saudi Arabia and Russia has pushed back today's virtual R-OPEC meeting to later in the week, oil spiked after a Reuters rehash of headlines over the past 3 days, namely that Russia is ready to discuss very substantial oil output cuts "due to global demand collapse", but - just as we warned over the weekend - Russia dded that "global oil output cuts of 10mmbpd might not be enough to balance the market."---ZeroHedge

。Before people get too excited about these latest numbers out of New York, we noticed several epidemiologists and other 'data people' found flaws in the numbers that they highlighted on Twitter. One expert who reviewed the data said she found a pattern that suggests the city might have underreported deaths yesterday, meaning these encouraging numbers don't reflect reality, and that more deaths would be reported later on Monday to compensate.

---ZeroHedge

---ZeroHedge

---ZeroHedge
