美中贸易谈判:

US-China trade talks:
Delegations from China and the U.S. ended talks that had lasted longer than expected in Beijing on Wednesday amid signs of progress on issues including purchases of U.S. farm and energy commodities and increased access to China’s markets.

More dovish talks by Federal Reserve presidents:
St. Louis Fed President Jim Bullard said the central bank could push the economy into recession if it persists with the rate hike cycle. Chicago Fed President Charles Evans said The Federal Reserve can wait and use the first half of this year to observe economic development before deciding interest rate policy.

Oil prices climbed 2.5 percent on Wednesday as the extension of U.S.-China talks in Beijing raised hopes that the world’s two largest economies would resolve their trade standoff.

The latest report from the Nikkei Asian Review suggests Apple (AAPL), which slashed its quarterly sales forecast last week, has reduced planned production for its three new iPhone models by about 10% for the January-March quarter. AAPL is up 1%.

Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos announced divorcing his wife. AMZN is down 0.5%.
