。Chinese government data showed that December exports and imports fell unexpectedly, deepening concerns of a slowdown in the world’s second-largest economy as Beijing’s trade war with the U.S. appeared to be taking a toll. China’s trade surplus with the U.S. grew 17 percent from a year ago. According to Reuters, that’s the highest on record dating back to 2006. Still, overall Chinese trade surplus last year was the lowest since 2013, the news agency reported.

。Concerns over an ongoing U.S. government shutdown and worries about an economic slowdown in China could dampen a relatively positive sentiments seen in markets last week.

。Citigroup (NYSE:C) Q4 EPS of $1.61, excluding one-time impact of tax reform, exceeds the average analyst estimate of $1.55, and increases from $1.28 in the year-ago quarter. Q4 revenue of $17.1B misses consensus of $17.6B, as fixed-income markets revenue sinks 39% from Q3. C open down but has now turn up.

。Morgan Stanley warned that despite several months of decline, Micron (MU) shares will continue to slump, set target price at 33. MU opened down 3.58% today and fell to 34.72.  Semiconductor "Growth disappointed in December across the board, including autos, industrial and smartphones," says analyst Craig Hettenbach, who expects another round of estimate cuts alongside Q1 earnings.

。PG&E Corp (PCG), owner of the biggest U.S. power utility by number of customers, said on Monday it is preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for all of its businesses as it faces potentially crushing liabilities linked to catastrophic wildfires in 2017 and 2018. PCG -49% to 9, Utility sector ETF XLU down 2%.
