Due to strengths (better than expected earnings) from IBM, PG and UTX, Dow opened up sharply. At one point, the Dow was up 297 points but has now(8:55 Pacific time) turned from up to down 41. S&P 500, Nasdaq and Russell 2000 have also turned down. Opened up and reversed to down in the face of better earning news is very bearish. Strong VXX (+3.6%) indicates more selling to come. Investors are nervous about Global economic slow down, US-China trade talk, government shut down and the coming earnings from technology companies.

The first line supports for the indexes are still their 50 Day Moving Averages and they are Dow 24271, S&P 500 2619, Nasdaq 6962, Russell 2000 1442. Secondary supports are 20 Day Moving averages at Dow 23648, S&P 500 2553, Nasdaq 6814, Russell 2000 1402.
